In today’s current economic climate, many businesses don’t want to commit themselves to large properties. Renting a warehouse is an excellent solution if your business is growing or requires extra storage space. If you’re looking to rent in London, where are the best places to choose?
Location is probably the key criteria for most businesses when they’re looking for a new property. Whether your main concern is transport links and accessibility or being close to other business interests, you should seriously consider what your requirements are. London’s a large city, so you need to consider the different areas with warehouses to let Wimbledon, East London or Hounslow are just some of the choices.
Heading North
If your main destinations are north of London, then choosing a warehouse in Enfield would make sense. This is the most northerly London borough so offers excellent transport links, both into the centre of London and other parts of the country. A warehouse here will have easy access to the North Circular, M25, the A10 and A1010, which then connect with the wider motorway network.
East is best
Since the Olympics, much of East London has undergone a huge amount of redevelopment, including the Thames Gateway project and Dagenham. Bordering Essex and Kent, Dagenham not only provides great transport connections, but there is also a large quantity of people looking for work.
Further Afield
If you need to be close to an airport, Wimbledon is a good choice. It’s only nine miles from Heathrow and 16 miles from Gatwick. The area also has good transport links with the South Circular and the A3 linking to the M25.
Going South
It takes time and money to navigate around London, so it’s a good idea to choose a warehouse on the side where you do the majority of your business. If you need to head to the south coast a fair deal or even travel across the Channel, a warehouse in Croydon is a good choice. It’s on the main A23 road between London and Brighton and has links to both Surrey and Kent.
If you need links further into the South East, including Kent and Essex, you should consider Bexley. This area is also in the middle of a number of residential areas, including Dartford and Sid cup, making it a good location to provide potential employees.
The West and Wales
There are many locations to the west of London that would make good locations for your warehouse space. Hayes offers good access to southern England and Wales. It’s close to major junctions on the M4, as well as having north / south and east / west link roads running through it.
Once you’ve got your location sorted, you then need to think about your other requirements, including size and facilities.
